DiffSinger is an AI vocal synthesizer built for both speech and singing. In a nutshell it's like a Synthesizer V AI voicebank but user-generated which can be loaded in OpenUTAU.

Examples of VBs which have received the DiffSinger treatment include Ruby, Namine Ritsu and Yokune Ruko.

>Why this thread?
There's very few places online to discuss DiffSinger, and not many people know how to use it, nuff said. I'm not an expert on DiffSinger either but since this is a place to discuss all things Vocaloid it doesn't hurt to make a support / troubleshooting thread here.

yeah, half of the community knew she was really fake, and the other half fell for it. i mean, her description was too imaginative to be anything real, very much in the style of a vocaloid roleplay character.

tw prima is worse in that regard now that i think about it. nothing about this says "opera" and prima's voice is the last thing i'd expect to come out of her mouth.

It's not much of a redesign but i miss the old Luka. I feel like V2 Luka looks more serious, expressionless, it almost reminds me of Sakaki from Azumanga Daioh who also happens to share the same voice provider. The design reflected her serious expressionless voice too. With V4X and SP it feels like they tried to make her happier and more idol-like and both of them also lack what made the original voice and design so interesting.

It seems every vocal-synth release this decade aside from UTAUs like Rei Adachi and the NT/SP cryptonloids have been AI. Will we ever see a normal voicebank again?.

Concerns of her sounding like Fujita or "un-Miku"-like was the main reason, I've heard through the grapevine that due to this they originally claimed they'd "never" make a Miku AI bank due to this but I guess it's possible now. At the same time, Vocaloid was probably chosen due to the fact it's the shittiest most unrealistic sounding AI in the vsynth sphere right now, ahead of only Piapro NT itself. CFM probably originally assumed Vocaloid would've progressed past it's current state by now. I AM curious about how Miku V6 will sound in vx_beta though, it might sound nice.

CeVIO is must worse in that regard but I think the reason people hate V6 more is because the vocals sound extremely flat and there's no actual way to tune them (Unless that has changed now. I did see they updated V6 but im not sure if that was one of the updates. When i pirated it there were no tuning options.)
