I saw several Dolfies in person not too long ago, and they were beautiful. Unfortunately, I didn’t see any Mikus. I’d love to get one eventually, but as others have mentioned, they can be extremely expensive. Sakura 2.0 is releasing next year, and based on the release frequency, I’d expect an NT rerelease at the earliest in 2026, potentially in 2027.

I only have four Miku prize figures, one of which is quite damaged, so here’s a picture of three of them! (plus some other figures in the background).

If i were to get a Miku Dollfie, how hard would it be to recreate Narupajin's doll without completely ruining her? The eyes look replaceable (although finding smaller eyes would be a challenge), and the mouth looks like he drew over it with some sort of marker, but this would ruin the doll wouldn't it?

Honestly when it comes to Vocaloid ships I've always been a bigger fan of the gay shit: KaiLen, LukaMiku, MikuRin, etc but being a RinLen fan or a Len fujo in 2024 is like being jewish in Nazi Germany so i respect that a lot.

I'm mostly into instrumental electronic music myself, but over the last few years I developed a certain taste for vocaloid music. I have no idea about community alignment though. So I wanted to ask if this particular kind of stuff that I especially enjoy - mostly idm/drill-n-bass/glitch/uk-garage adjacent vocaloids - is actually considered proper vocaloid music in the community. One thing I noticed is stuff like this never really gets anywhere near as popular as simple pop songs. So what's your opinion about this kind of stuff?

I was reading old articles about Hatsune Miku earlier and a lot of journalist boomers who are completely unfamiliar with the concept of a vocalsynth or otaku culture seem to view her as this 1984 AI dystopia thing that will replace human singers.

What's the best way to explain Vocaloid to a person like this?.

It's solidly okay. Their music would benefit from better mixing, but it's catchy enough. I probably would've liked the characters as a youth. they're not so relatable as a mellowed-out adult.

this isn't a bad thing. a lot of popular songs have bad mixing (most notably Q by siinamota) but that doesn't make them bad.
