Let's get a general going in here for all things vocal-synth. I'm surprised that for a Vocaloid imageboard we don't have one yet. You know the drill.

No.3508
>>3418>No one talks about obsolete meatNah it was definitely a big deal when it came out. But i think the hype for 32ki's music in general died after Obsomeat. Mesmerizer has reached classic status so it will continue to pull in billions of views while overshadowing the creator's other music (like it happened with ECHO). It's a bit sad though, i like 32ki's other stuff.

No.3515
>>3510for those out of the loop (totally not me, haha) what was that controversy? what happened to the jani person?
No.3516
>>3515The song is about this girl who was diagnosed with childhood-onset schizophrenia named Jani Schofield, there's a couple documentaries about her from around the time she was still a child (she is between 22-23 now). Crusher-P created it with good intentions to spread awareness of schizophrenia, but in 2019 it was revealed that Jani never really had schizophrenia and her parents were essentially drugging and abusing her. Additionally the person who mixed the original song was an alleged POCALOID user. Today this means nothing but when the song originally released you were basically the antichrist for using pirated Vocaloid software.

>>3594I just dislike generic pop and electronica songs. The more rock or metalcore something is, the higher chance I will like it. There's exceptions to this rule. I've been seeing a lot of generic pop blow up in the West and I cannot for the life of me understand why people like Flavor Folley despite liking Vane's music outside of it.
One of the things I absolutely love about Western Voca-P's over Eastern is the likelihood you'll see a rare voicebank. I see more usage of loids like Maika in the West than the East, and the constant barrage of Cryptonloids generally aren't for me so I rarely listen to JPloid unless I know the producer writes good music. UTSU is my favorite JP Voca-P with Xitoo in second.
No.3596
>>3595I'm surprised the Japanese don't use Maika considering Spanish and Japanese are similar pronunciation-wise. It's actually very easy to make her sing in Japanese (although with a heavy European accent).
No.3597
>>3596Agreed, and Maika has extra phonemes to make several languages easier. In fact, her phoneme list is completely unique. Not even Bruno or Clara have it and they're easy enough to make sing in Spanish, English, and Japanese.
No.3599
>>3595Hm, that's interesting because a while back I thought of making some power pop / pop punk that's even more poppy than the song I put out a while back. Something like SMILE-era Porter Robinson where it's still very much guitar driven but more "artificial" and with synths/drum machines. I'll continue making rock for the time being but I'll see what I can do in the future. Metalcore i feel is beyond my capabilities.

I also released it publicly, but I'm pretty insecure despite (already) getting much better at tuning him in covers. I'm far better with Miki and Big Al but I rarely touch them.
It was originally supposed to be with Teto, but Teto SV 1.0 was…horrible with English already, and I got her pretty much day one.
I have a few more recent WIPs and older instrumentals I'm trying very hard to salvage from around 2020-2022, some even older but I can't find them.

Most of my favorite Vocaloid songs are still from the late 2010s, but small VocaP's are making a lot of good songs that wouldn't really be a thing in the 2010s.
