Did any of you ever roleplay on social media or forums? Recently I've been coming across abandoned vocaloid/utau roleplay accounts on Twitter and I've been wondering what it must've been like to RP online back in the day. I'm not talking ERP/sexual RP but actual fun RP for the hell of it. I'm in my 20's and I feel like I completely missed out on that side of the internet even though it's something I feel would have appealed to my 12 year old self. Even if by today's standards it's cringe shit and I'm reaching that age where it becomes weird to interact with people younger than you within fandom spaces I'm still intrigued by it. So tell me 39chanons have you ever done this and is it worth getting into in the current year?.

I won't lie, i've considered making an rp account for sukone tei or kaito on bluesky since that's the "new twitter" and the vocaloid fandom while still extremely toxic isn't as annoying as on twitter there

Fell down a rabbit hole of Vocaloid roleplay screenshots taking place in dAmn (the now defunct Deviantart chatrooms) and it reminded me of how fun the internet used to be years ago. Discord is not the same, everyone there is bitter and allergic to fun, and if anything the amount of channels and unfair moderation makes it feel more like if Reddit and IRC had a deformed incest child. Maybe i'm just old and depressed.

I admittedly miss it a lot. I miss the fucking around while pretending to be a character aspect of it, especially in MMO games (Hell, my first RP experiences were in Club penguin and Habbo) because if you joined a public RP most people would play along with you. I'd love to do something like that again. I'm aware it's cringe, and I don't give a shit. All I want is to not run into children since it is true that most SFW roleplayers are typically underage. lenno

My two cents on this is that westerners blew the whole thing out of proportion due to the language barrier (Mimukauwa is arguably more sexual and even that is a stretch). The fact that PJSK iPad kids make up 80% of the fandom nowadays certainly doesn't help since they're hardwired to throw a tantrum over anything they see as problematic. I don't like the song, it's not my type of genre, but it's really just harmless and I think Caststation did a great job with the MV.

I'm also disappointed in TONE for making that one song about Yuki being sexually abused in response to Zako. They're one of my favorite engloid producers but they basically made the nothing into a something by using the actual Yuki voicebank to communicate the message (over a non-sexual song, mind you).

I’m not entirely sure why I’m being misunderstood but I’ll try and explain it in a bit more detail: the point of me wanting a nendoroid of her isn’t anything related to her design. It’s that nendoroids are all interchangeable with each other. I can take Sora Kasugano’s outfit and put it on her if she had a nendo if I so chose because that’s how nendoroid work. I can take a hand from that same sora nendo (although most nendoroid come with hands for holding things regardless) and let her carry around a pocky stick or make her wear Rena’s “USODA!” Expression because at its core nendoroids are like funky little Barbie dolls in their customizability.
Sorry if this is worded weirdly it’s past 1am and I’m pretty sleep deprived so I’m not entirely sure if I’m making sense either…

the only forums I know of (that aren't imageboards) that I frequent are sadly on animebytes which is a private torrent tracker, so to access that ppl sadly need to be invited in or fill out an application (which opens rarely anyway iirc)

I tried to request for account everywhere I can find in public instances but all of them ignore my request. Is it because of copyright thing? but I think most of them didn't care about that because I saw some of the music videos that were posted clearly violation of copyright.

You know, If you ever made live stream on one of this peertube instances, there will be 0% percent lag to the viewers despite the connection between user is behind hidden onion network. This is what I like about peertube the most because their whole topology network is based on torrent like machanism. Maybe they pull an IPFS technology into peertube, who knows.
