Hey everyone, we're proud to announce the launch of our official MikuMikuOnline English server "MikuMikuTogether".
Make sure you read the goddamn guide before installing/joining. Don't flood this thread with questions about why your game crashed. What is MikuMikuOnline?MikuMikuOnline is a 3D MMD-based chatroom game released in 2012. For years the game remained in a somewhat unplayable state until a god named Washishi descended from the heavens to release his own version of the client called WSS-mod.

Currently messing around and testing this out. I was looking through the models and animation files because I thought the lack of jump animation was weird. It turns out there isn't any jump animation, only standing, walking, and running. Some models use custom animations for those 3, but still only have those 3 animations. Seemingly all except for '(Suzu) Mikudayo', which has 3 additional animations being 'bow', 'wave', and 'panic'. Other models cannot use these animations by default, but if you copy the relevant section from Mikudayo's info.json to another model's, they will be able to use them upon restart (Initially I assumed /reload would work for this purpose rather than having to restart, but this does not seem to be the case.). It is also possible to put your own animations in, though I don't know if other people will be able to see it without the .vmd in their files.
Also, the height parameter in the info.json files does not affect the model in anyway. But if altered, does change the camera and jump height. Making your character height a high number like 50 lets you play a super zoomed out top down view if you want. It's not practical but it can be entertaining.

>>60That's pretty much how it works. I think it'd be fun to have a custom 39chan map and room interiors like shops and banks for roleplay but i have no idea how to make maps for this.

>>97Wouldn't it just be making sure a stage is in .x format and renders properly? Granted I'm basing this off of the stages included in the zip file.

>>101I believe you have to set the spawn points manually, correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not even sure how you'd obtain your character's coordinates on this thing so that's probably something you have to use MMD itself for.

We should have a custom 39ch map

>>172It runs fine insofar as I can wander around, set my model, and see other people and their chat, I just can't send messages or set my name after the first thirty seconds or so on the server. I'm not sure it's even an OS issue specifically. I'm pretty tapped for things I can try at this point, the only different result I've managed to get is the game not launching at all. A Windows VM might do the job but I can't be bothered setting one up.

Shoutout to those three anons on MikuMikuOnline on the 15th, i hope we meet again

>>185Haven't looked at it since. I don't really have any ideas as to what the problem could be. Might run it by some of my friends that also use Linux to see if they get the same result or not. It would be nice to at least narrow down whether it's specifically an OS issue or not.
