MMD is more of a hobby thing. A few decades ago it was mainly used by kids to make goofy shit like this: https://youtu.be/wenJ4wstxCU or dance videos. So yeah Blender is better if you're trying to make something more "professional".

genuinely the only reason I still use mmd and haven't moved to blender is coz I learned it as an itty bitty baby and never moved on and am now too stuck in my ways
my boyfriend jokingly made fun of me about it recently like "I can’t use the industry standard but I can use the janky pile of shit that is way harder to use"
