With how often this site gets updated I figured I'd make a thread for news as well as feedback in case you want to suggest things, report bugs, etc. The original suggestions/complaints thread will be locked for archival purposes, use this thread from now on.

As of December 27, 2024 we've introduced BBCode, courtesy of Rads from Rotting Angels. BBCode for font sizes has also been removed to prevent abuse. Regular chan markup still works alongside it I believe.

Tuesdays are dedicated to Kasane Teto, and are therefore, Teto Tuesdays.

39chan is in need of a new frontpage banner and we need (You), yes YOU, to design it.

Rules:
<Banner must be 750x200 or 750x300 and include "39chan" somewhere
<It must include between 4-9 vocal-synthesizer characters like the current banner
<Do not draw extremely obscure characters (e.g. your own UTAU from 2010), stick to characters that are recognizable to at least 3 people (This rule does not apply to 39chan characters such as Sena and TORIKO)
<Simple, chibi art styles are preferred but not required
<Vsynth doesn't matter - you can draw from vocaloid and voicevox to synthv and maidloid
<No Photoshop or AI garbage
<No pronz, keep it SFW
<3D is allowed as long as the models are original (Note: Koikatsu does not count)

We had around 10 unique IPs around September when the site launched. We're nearing the end of October and now we have 117 unique IPs. I think it's pretty clear that the site is growing. It's also clear that a lot of anons here have never touched an imageboard in their lives before 39ch by the way some posts read more like forum posts than imageboard posts. Despite all that I feel like the site currently has its own culture of sorts: we have people making OC on /o/ and /leek/, we have frequent recognizable posters like menheranon, etc.

Is it schizo to worry that if the site becomes bigger a lot of that would be lost like it happened to 4chan and 8chan?.

What the fuck is a 39chan?
39chan (a.k.a Mikuchan) is a Vocaloid themed web forum or imageboard created in September 2024. It is currently maintained by some guy who goes by "moth". As you can probably tell it was created to discuss Vocaloid, its culture, and its community. As such, OC (original content) is heavily encouraged and celebrated here. Read the rules before posting.

The main board for all things Vocaloid is >>>/leek/. For off-topic content go to >>>/g/.

Post throttled by filter? What does this mean?
This is a bug we've had ever since 39chan moved from being self-hosted to being hosted on a VPS in December last year. It doesn't mean you're banned, it's the message that shows up when you're posting too quickly. We haven't found a way to change it to be less vague. There's an amount of time you have to wait before making another post and this is there to prevent spam.

to be fair I do really love Mizuki as a character but also since I (rightly) assumed the board was going to get deleted after a day I figured there wasn't much point about properly discussing Mizu.. lenno

I do admit I'm usually also frustrated when people reduce my favs down to just sexualizing them, but one day on a board that was also slower at that point in time wasn't really going to foster any meaningful conversations about Mizuki either unfortunately

39chan is back online after a couple days of the site being down. First of all let me start by thanking the lovely people at Rotting Angels for creating a board for 39chan refugees who felt lost after the site went down. I would also like to thank the board owner of /miku/ on Endchan (who is a moderator on 39chan) for keeping his board up after all these years and helping 39chanons just by having created the board in the first place.

That being said: 39chan is officially back. We've added emotes you can add to your posts (check the FAQ to learn how to use them). The captcha has also been removed (time between posts remains unchanged due to spam). Posting on the site should be a bit faster now.

I've been on wapchan before as a lurker, it's a neat little site. You don't see a lot of places to seriously discuss anime these days so I appreciate its existence.
