Here's to hoping that they actually use holograms this year and don't fuck up the security to the point where you have people pissing in the venue. I'd feel bad if this was somebody's first Vocaloid concert experience.

Crypton too

 No.47

in hindsight it really wasnt that bad
i wish she was bigger, though.

A screen is still super cheap and feels like a kick to the balls. Fan concerts like Vocamerica and Vocaloid Medley use holograms so what's stopping Crypton here?.

For those who went how small was the screen? because in pictures it looks tiny

Also will they do this again for the next one? I'd hope not

It was big enough to contain the choreography, so probably 6ftx12ft or similar. How big it feels depends on the distance.
I went to 2 showings - one I waited 8hrs for a good pit spot, other was seated and I was middle of the pack. When I was close up the TV looked fine, probably better than the projector even, since it filled most of my field of vision. Halfway through the crowd though the TV outline stood out like the black box in nununu's videos. It took mental effort to ignore the it and focus on the performance. So my recommendation if they have the same garbage setup is to battle for the best view possible.
For what it's worth, if there were no lights on behind the TV, you wouldn't be able to tell it was there.

I really don't understand why they just didn't settle for cheaper materials if they wanted to cut costs, instead of using a literal screen

The speculation I've heard is that the screen is more durable or easier to transfer between venues which is more relevant to the international tours than the JP ones. They've used screens for Miku x Kodo and it looked good, though, so really they just buffed it for Expo.

Was MikuExpo USA really that bad? What was the song/setlist?

 No.77

>>76
the screens were used for the whole tour not just the US

 No.78

I still want to attend miku expo but I was wondering what songs/setlist do they usually go with?

 No.79

>>76
It was a miku concert, so it was good, but it was probably the weakest tour so far. Since it was the 10th anniversary, they played all the old expo theme songs, and they geberally kinda suck outside magical cure love shot. That sucked up 3 setlist spots per venue and the show was 1-2 songs shorter than people expected also. They didn’t have time to play Godish which I was surprised by.
>>78
Usually you get a blend of recent Mirai songs and old reliable stuff.

 No.80

>>43
Nothing much honestly. All concert recording I've seen of the expo was full of people having fun. It was just modern drama vultures and vocatourists being unable to live without constantly shitting on CFM.

a screen does kinda suck though you have to admit that

If your seat's on the side of it, fair enough. But the atmosphere more than makes up for it unless you're purposefully being a downer.

It was really fun for the most part. the worst aspect of the screen was simply it's size. Miku was life-sized instead of scaled up a bit as she usually is, so it was a bit hard to see her if you werent decently close to the screen

I've had this shower thought for a while now but what if you feggits actually organized a Miku con, with blackjack and hookers?. Think about it, a fully Vocaloid con (it wouldn't be the first) with producers, panels, maybe a fanmade concert too. Would it be possible 39choon? would it?.

 No.93

>>92
It's not a bad idea but you'd need money, contacts, and a plan, and most importantly you'd have to organize it outside this site. Otherwise say hello to the new DashCon. I've never organized a con though so take what i'm saying with a grain of salt.

actually how legal even is it to host fanmade concerts? i know its been done before (see vocamerica, miku live houston, etc) but hmm…

 No.97

there better be a ballpit

If she can have her own concert despite being a literal who then so can we

 No.108

Every single vocaloid concert(at least the official ones) are good and the only people shitting on them are people who never even went there.

 No.109

>>108
Oh trust me all Vocaloid concerts are good. Even the unofficial ones are an experience. So I'd imagine that even with a screen I'd still have a blast. Holograms are better doe.
