Which random vocaloid has the chance to become popular this next year?

I hope Rana gets her chance one day, me and my friends love her, she seems to have a decent amount of fans in the Western fandom (ironic considering she was region-locked for a while), and she’s already been used by big VocaP like Luna* and Lamaze

 No.846

I think it's gonna be another Miku/Teto year but if not then the likely answer is Una

 No.847

In my heart its Oliver.

 No.849

Honestly hope it's not Miku or Teto again. Miku has always been #1 and has a shit ton of songs already, and Teto has become #2 ever since her SV voicebank came out. But I'll take Teto over Miku just because she hasn't been in the spotlight until very recently.

please let it be haku or zatsune… or a female engloid with an english accent (← delusion)

She’s not discontinued like my poor girl SeeU either..

All jokes aside i think Hibiki Koto has the biggest chance this year. There's been a lot of JP producers making songs with her, none of them has blown up yet but it doesn't seem unlikely to happen in a near future. Like >>854 i'd kill for an Engloid revival but let's be honest that's impossible these days. All the companies who made those original EN voicebanks have left the scene a long time ago and ever since SynthV no one cares about the original english voicebanks, especially when popular ones like Teto can already sing in english.

Kakoi still has a big fanbase in Japan, maybe 2025 will give us some new stuff with her

slave.v-v-r made this song with her a bit ago; maybe this is the beginning of a merli renaissance?

>maybe this is the beginning of a merli renaissance?
I doubt it. At best she'll get popular in a "Yi Xi" kind of way but i hope i'm wrong.

 No.1025

>>1023
oh yeah, i'm not counting on it… but with neru's sudden rise in popularity, nothing's impossible! especially considering merli actually has a voicebank. it might just take someone meme-ing her into relevancy. though, i'm not sure what that would look like… merli was never all that culturally significant in the first place.

 No.1029

>>1025
Neru resurgence happened because of memes. People memed her into Mesmerizer for some reason and it took off in Japan as well. And it was further fueled by Caststation and 32ki themselves acknowledging the meme with the Triple Ryuunen art and Obsolete Meat.

>>1029
well… yes! i sort of acknowledged this in my previous post. that was only able to happen because people already knew about triple baka; merli doesn't have anything like that. but with how unexpected the neru boom was, i'm not going to completely dismiss the possibility. i just hope i-style project can get their act together and do something actually good because those coeavatar voicebanks flopped hard.

Imagine if they made an AIVOICE or VOICEVOX for Lapis instead of that dumb NFT..Lapis might've possibly gotten a bit more interest in her and said interest could've trickled down to Merli. We still have DennokoP, I guess!

Pray that he continues using her because niki switching to Cevio basically killed the last bit of relevance Lily still had.

What's stopping Internet Co from releasing a SV of her or at the very least a V6 like with Galaco? With GACKT i can understand it because he doesn't want a realistic AI voice of himself but what about Lily? Newgens basically have no idea she exists but the older fans still like and remember her.

probably money and/or yuri leaving the music industry to sell candles and incense

 No.1170

i mean, some vps aren't even singers, like kaai yuki's and a lot of the seiyuus (who technically sing but i don't believe they're as skilled as an actual professional singer)

 No.1171

>>1168
Prominent and famous voice providers are probably really expensive to hire, this is probably why we haven’t seen a REDCUL revival even though Hiroto and Zan-Shin are interested in it + Crypton keeps reusing samples

Had no idea Masuda left the music industry but that probably plays a part as well (at the same time, if you don’t sing any longer wouldn’t that just make it easier to release a singing synth?)

So this is why WHITECUL and ROSA exist? Never been a fan of those and the fact that they randomly decided to canonize them as CUL's siblings about 12 whole years after her release.

 No.1174

Not entirely sure but it would make sense! Rev was always supposed to get a VB but I never saw Hiroto or Zan-shin say anything about wanting to give the sisters banks prior to like the 2020s.

Why do 90% Japanese producers not care for non-Miku loids? KAFU, Teto and Yuki miraculously got their well deserved spotlight in recent years but is there any hope for the other loids? Are our favorite wholoids doomed to fade into obscurity?

 No.1177

File: 1737844184436.png (744.43 KB, 893x865, icrai.png)

>>1176
I'm pretty sure the answer to that is just… Miku is who gets the views. Think about it; she's the one in the car commercials, the one opening for Lady Gaga… Everyone mistook Momo's cover of nyanyanya as a Miku song when Nyan cat got insanely popular. I'm pretty sure the thought process is "Miku is popular, why use money on other Voice Banks when my best chance at hitting it big is with Miku?" …or something like that.
It's kinda depressing tho tbh

 No.1181

>>1177
I mean it's not impossible, Yuki has one of the most viewed songs and there was even a Nissin commercial parodying it. But yeah i agree. I love Miku but she's had the spotlight for nearly two decades, there's other loids who deserve to be known too.

Full write-up in picrel, but
>TL;DR
While some producers sadly probably use only Miku because they "have" to and won't be able to get enough money or recognition to put food on their table if they don't, the Japanese side of the fandom is mostly waifufags who are using Miku because they genuinely want to.

>Are our favorite wholoids doomed to fade into obscurity?

Lmao yes. I don't mean this with malice by the way, I'm a gigantic wholoidfag myself I just like being realistic.
Don't let the lack of content discourage you anon! Let it motivate you to learn new skills and make content for your favorites, that's what I do. The amount of talented Yi Xi and Vimalion artists popping up lately are really inspiring to me. One of the main reasons I'm learning art and music production is so I can give my favorite wholoids some love and Rule 34. With things like the popularity of Kafu, Yuki, Flower, Zundamon and VOICEVOX, and SynthesizerV even on the Eastern side I think Japanese VocaPs are becoming more open to using loids that aren't Miku.

 No.1230

>>1226
Oh, I feel better about it knowing they (well most of them ig?) just genuinely love her.
It kinda gives me hope one day someone will love one of my favorite wholoids enough to make a banger with 'em. (I don't have enough confidence in any of my skills to think I could do it myself, but I can still try, too.)
