We all know him, yet we don't talk of him. Or do we?

Discussion can include the original content, many of its copycats or even works that might or might not be inspired by these iconic works.

Maybe it's a stretch but I'd say he's one if not *the* most influential UTAU producer considering how many copycats spawned from just those four songs. I've been listening to his Speder stuff recently and it has an unique style that even the copycats fail to replicate.

In particular, I like Umicha's take on the style.

I never really got why he just vanished and wanted to disassociate himself from the songs, but I'm glad that the songs are still very influential.

Honestly I wish he had embraced his newfound fame. If it's for menhera reasons i can understand since i too often have meltdowns and delete my own stuff. But i really feel like he could've singlehandedly revived interest in UTAU had he continued doing his thing.

I personally like x0o0x's. He started out as a Koronba copycat but later developed his own style. He's mainly known for his utaite stuff but he makes vocaloid stuff as xyxyz.

Not Vocaloid but a while back I discovered YOASOBI through Yoru Ni Kakeru and thought it sounded a lot like something Koronba would compose (especially the lyrics and chord progressions). Is it possible that this song could have been influenced by Koronba? His influence has definitely spread beyond the vocalsynth scene, plenty of utaites (most notably the aforementioned x0o0x) make music in his style or started out making music in his style before developing their own.

Japanese people singing along to a YTPMV/MAD of A sardine grows from the soil. I think that's what it is.

I wish western crowds had this much energy.

I wish we had otomad/ytpmv events in the first place. Vidrel is what was shown there.

Do you guys think that Koronba, if still alive, is aware of how influential his work has become to not just the Vocaloid/UTAU community but Japanese music in general?.

Has anybody here heard these bootlegs? They're fanmade compilations of his music

yeah, fun fact: i made the "found" bootleg. i made it about 5 years ago i think and it was mostly made out of found youtube content (hence the title), wav files i found on uboachan and converted to flac, and those project files that koronba himself released. pretty funny that it found its way back there eventually, no pun intended. originally i had made a version of it with a white cover but i found more tracks so i made the black one that most people know which is an expanded version of the original. i uploaded it on mega but i lost access to both the mega account and the youtube account i uploaded it on. i actually have no idea what the fuck happened to the files on mega because i never deleted what was inside and i keep seeing people complain that "there's nothing in the download link". i guess either my mega account was terminated or someone filed a false copyright claim against my upload but regardless, the album is on archive.org and soulseek these days so you can easily get it from there.

but anyway that's the story of this "found" bootleg you see floating around. to be honest im surprised it got popular enough to reach the chinese side of the internet because at the time i made it barely anyone cared about koronba except maybe the ytpmv/otomad community.

the reason a couple tracks on it feel unfinished is because they were made out of what had been found at the time i made it. solar wind for example has already been found in its entirety and the one minute version i used in my album seems like its a demo or an early version of it.

maybe some day i'll update it with the new stuff that has been found. idk.
