I had the idea to make a song about food w/ Sonika
No.1412
>>1409Sonika is just one of many sadly
They're letting all of their vsynths rot ever since V4 Sonika was cancelled
No.1413
Can someone explain to me why people are suddenly trying to meme sonika into relevance again? not that im against it she absolutely deserves it but this site isn't the only place, a minority of vocatwt is suddenly talking about her too and she sometimes gets brought up on the /jp/ threads in a sort of ironic way
No.1414
>>1413Sonika has cute design and voice…
and after she had her voicebank cancelled people realized her wasted potential
now will producers make something with her? it is unlikely, perhaps CircusP might if we are lucky, but the rest will stick with Miku or the EN SVS
No.1415
>>1413I think if she got popular again it could prove to vocal synth companies that cute girls can sell in the West too, instead of constantly giving us boring professional vocals with stock photo boxart, since she was inspired by the Japanese Vocaloids. I really wish Sonika V4 was a crowdfund
No.1420
>>1413Her voice and design are cute and she can sing in multiple languages

aiSeNMa daughter or MTC2 son?
No.2167
I actually fear the day Sonika gets discontinued. She's already incompatible with V5/6 and Zero-G doesn't care for their loids anymore since V5.
No.2191
Why does Sonika have a lisp
No.2243
>>1413Because she was meant to be the english equivalent to Miku but Zero-G doomed her by recording her voice samples on a calculator and the western producers too by not making any songs with her.
(except Circus-P but at this point i dont think he cares about her anymore)
No.2244
>>2191It's not a lisp, she just had the disadvantage of being born in the United Kingdom
No.2997
Why did Sonika of all voicebanks become this site's memegirl?
No.3004
>>3000she really doesn't look british
No.3714
>>3713What does Skype have to do with sonika
No.3715
>>3714For years it's been a bit of an inside joke that sonika was recorded during a skype call with zero-g due to the low quality of the voicebank and how you can supposedly hear skype noises when she sings certain notes. It's been debunked already but people still refer to her as the Skype vocaloid.
No.3716
>>3713Skype was dogshit anyway. People could easily figure out your IP by typing in your username onto a website and the streaming quality was awful. I still prefer it over dicksword though.
No.3723
>>3717I don't think we should worry about Sonika yet. PowerFx died because it became Soundation and i assume Vocaloid was seen as unprofessional. Zero-G as far as i know hasn't pulled any stunts like this and out of all companies they seem like the one that was most in touch with fans. Again, they quit vocaloid following the cancellation of Sonika V4 and they haven't really touched any of their vsynth stuff since. They did discontinue LEON and LOLA a while back though so maybe I'm just coping and Sonika'a days really are numbered. But i dont see it happening this decade if it happens at all.
No.3728
>>1342I would genuinely consider buying her VB if I ever went back to legal
>>3723The V1s were canned due to lack of V2 cross-compat. V2s are waiting for all their codes to run out before nuking everything, but no new codes are being made. Zero-G is one of my favorite Vocaloid companies and they've made a lot of my favorite banks (Sonika, Miriam, Tonio, Leon, etc) and they still engage with fans, despite not wanting to return to synths. Maybe one day we'll get Zero-G to work on VSynths again, though I doubt they'll work on an actual Vocaloid. Maybe SynthV, or a meme tier competitor like Maghni.
No.3729
>>3728The only western company i'm aware of that develops synths for SV is Eclipsed Sounds, the rest are all Japanese or Chinese, so a SV upgrade for any of those banks seems highly unlikely. Developing for SV also costs a lot from what i've heard. As much as it hurts i don't think anyone would be willing to invest that much money onto something like Tonio SV. Now, Maghni on the other hand…
No.3734
>>3729Yeah, I was thinking they may do Maghni because they nabbed all the PFX banks (except Yohio, understandable but he's still one of my favorites alongside Big Al) but until Maghni releases to the public, I worry about the quality. The demos sound great, but I'm not risking anything after SV2
No.3736
>>3734Even if he hadn't said anything controversial i feel like a Hio update still wouldn't have happened. Heard the guy's a dick and recording the original voicebank was a pain in the ass.
No.3737
>>3736Ruby's VA was also a dick and made PFX quit Vocaloid so I'm shocked they got Ruby back. Maybe she grew up, whereas Hio didn't
No.3747
>>3743She is, I love her voice and design.
