I only browse this, sushichan and uboachan. All of them are slow in comparison to bigger boards like 4chan but they're still comfy.

the best ones are the small comfy ones like hikari3, kakashi nenpo, sushigirl, etc

Yeah I just go here and sushichan, sometimes I go to /c/ on 4chan but ngl I feel like 4chan is full of spooky ppl to my brain so i usually avoid it 😭 maybe I’ll try and branch out a bit !!! Or not who knows with me

4chan isn't a scary place but it definitely has been shittified over the years. People say /pol/'s creation marks the day the site died but to me it died when Hiro bought it. That being said though i only use /jp/, /h/ and /cm/

tohno-chan.com is an otaku imageboard, that i browse reguarly. It's a bit slow, but still worth checking out.

1chan.net was a great imageboard focused on rails, trains. It was one of the oldest English imageboards alive since 2000's, by 'thatdog' author of futallaby. It was privacy respective, without js, cloudflare, spyware, with nonjs backend generated captcha, compatible with old text browsers, without spam, had premoderation of prepublished posts.

Not every chan fell to the jaks and frogs (39chan, wapchan, hikari3, smugloli among others). The fediverse is a joke, since it ends up being just as much of a walled garden as any independent ib/forum when they start blacklisting everyone else.

22chan seems to have nothing to do with higurashi as far as I can tell. All the site original designs lean into the "green anonymous guy" from old /b/, a design I never really understood myself
